The median price of a single-family home sold in San Diego County last month was $500,000, a 6 percent increase over February 2014 and 1 percent higher than the previous month, according to data released Monday by the San Diego Association of Realtors.

For attached residences like condominiums or townhouses, the median sales price in February was $335,000, a 12 percent jump over one year ago, and 3 percent over the month before.

Figures for the number of sales were mixed.

Nearly 1,400 houses changed hands last month, 7 percent more than the month before but down 2 percent from February 2014.

Association stats show 675 condos were sold in February, an 11 percent climb over January but a 13 percent plunge from February 2014.

"These are good numbers," said association board President Chris Anderson. "We expect this trend to continue as we head into the spring and summer selling season. If inventory levels rise, we could really see some market growth."

The San Diego Association of Realtors reported that nearly 6,000 homes were listed for sale in San Diego County, about half of what is considered to be a strong inventory level.

The most expensive house in the region to change hands last month was a five-bedroom, five-bath, 6,700-square-foot mansion in La Jolla purchased for $9 million.
