An Alpine street was closed following an officer-involved shooting that occurred while the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force was conducting an arrest, March 10, 2015.

A wanted man was seriously wounded Tuesday when he allegedly drove an SUV toward members of the San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force in front of an Alpine condominium complex, prompting four of them to open fire on him.

The multi-agency law enforcement team was trying to arrest the 25-year- old man on a felony warrant in the 2100 block of Arnold Way when the shooting occurred about 11:15 a.m., sheriff's Lt. John Maryon said.

The suspect, whose name was withheld, suffered multiple bullet wounds to his upper body. Medics took him to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
