To start on October 18, which is the Museum 75th anniversary and the birthday of Alan Branning's clips in our house is used as the museum site. Hugh Davies is not completely out of the picture? Now he will stay on until 2018 to help with the museum expansion, they are creating a whole new way to house the permanent collection. They have a whole bunch of art that is just sitting there, no one can see it, so they are going to expand and make it so that you can come and see these pieces all of the time. Terrific. Let's move on to ballet in beer. We all know that San Diego is a beer town but now it is even at the ballet, this weekend California ballet presents beer and ballet that showcases work with serving up local craft. They are trying to bring a different kind of audience. This is hoping to be a more casual environment, some people are afraid of ballet but they are trying to make this open to anyone who is interest. There's going to be local beers, available before, during and after the show. What kind of ballet will people be seen while they eat and drink # This will actually be new works choreographed by two of the company dancers and one guest artists, so we have Jared Nelson from the Washington ballet, he is doing a duet inspired by Samson and Delilah and that is going to have a live singer and he is also doing a piece by a Hoosier song take me to church, and then company dancer Jeremy Zapanta is doing been yet inspired by Japanese animated, and in a popular local dancer Trystan Merrick is doing a classical piece and he is also dancing the pas de deux from Swan Lake. .This is a different way for the California ballet to do the showcase they do every year? Yes. Every year they have the on the bar and that is a chance for the dancers to show off their choreography and try some new stuff and it is popular with all of the other ballet companies also, I think everyone likes to break out and explore. So this is with the addition of the year, expanding the audience, is that the hope? Yes there will be food trucks, dancers, it will come out and mingle and drink a beer with you after the show, so this will be ballet for everyone. Beer & Ballet at the California ballet company. What can you tell us about the event beyond the bare. This is a fun all day called super -- adventure there is a whole bunch of events coming on, different block for seem to blocks, a live art block where you can watch artists create work on vans, the kind you drive, they will be painting on a food truck on a dumpster that then you can also get hats and skate decks and things like that. Are there other movies coming is an ongoing? Beer & Ballet

Dance

Beer and ballet doesn't seem like the most natural combination, but California Ballet is mixing things up for its annual Beyond the Barre program.

This year, California Ballet Company presents Beer & Ballet, a casual, intimate performance debuting new works by local choreographers Jared Nelson, Trystan Merrick and Jeremy Zapanta.
