Flights At San Diego Airport Temporarily Delayed

An equipment problem at the Federal Aviation Administration's Approach Control in San Diego temporarily delayed flights at Lindbergh Field Thursday morning and resulted in a ground stop of all flights at Los Angeles International Airport.

Personnel at the San Diego International Airport were notified around 8 a.m. that malfunctioning FAA equipment was causing some departing flight delays, airport spokeswoman Rebecca Bloomfield said. The exact number of delayed flights was not known.

The issue was resolved around 8:40 a.m., but Bloomfield urged travelers to check the status of their specific flights because sometimes delays can cause a "ripple effect."
