An influx of warm monsoonal atmosphere brought some summertime rain and thunderstorms to the San Diego area Monday.
Through late this afternoon, meteorologists logged 360 lightning bolts across the county, nearly 200 of which reached the ground. No fires or other resulting problems were reported.

In addition to skyward flashes and booms, the moist, sticky conditions spawned scattered sprinkles and showers that delivered anywhere from a few hundredths of an inch to more than half an inch of rain to local communities.
As of 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, the wet clouds had dropped 0.59 of an inch of moisture on Mount Laguna; 0.35 in Warner Springs; 0.32 in Canebrake; 0.31 in Agua Caliente, Barona and the Lake Cuyamaca area; 0.25 in Echo Dell and on Volcan Mountain; 0.23 at Mount Woodson; and 0.2 in Descanso.
Other rainfall totals included 0.16 in Campo; 0.12 in Pine Valley; 0.11 in Birch Hill and Tierra del Sol; 0.1 in Pine Hills; 0.07 in Harbison Canyon; Julian and Ranchita; 0.03 in Poway, San Diego Country Estates and Santee; 0.02 in San Marcos; and 0.01 in De Luz, Elfin Forest and Ramona.
No destructive flooding or mudslides were reported.
The moist air mass is expected to gradually dissipate Tuesday and Wednesday, and a strengthening high-pressure canopy will bring about increasing local temperatures through the end of the workweek, according to forecasters.
