Music legend Herb Alpert is returning to San Diego in July for a special show by the Bay.
Alpert, who started his career with The Tijuana Brass and co-founded A&M Records, has entertained audiences for more than five decades.
His upbeat trumpet brought a new sound to pop charts in the 1960's. In 1966 Alpert's albums outsold The Beatles.
Next month, Alpert and his wife Lani Hall will perform as part of the San Diego Symphony's Bayside Summer Nights concert series.
When: July 6 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Embarcadero Marina Park South
Alpert discussed his upcoming show and his new album, "Music Vol. 1," Tuesday on Midday Edition.
