Airs Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018 at 11:30 p.m. on KPBS TV

Follow restaurateur, author and television host Huang on his unique path to the American Dream

He became an attorney to please his parents, but Eddie Huang’s heart was always in the kitchen. As the founder of New York City eatery Baohaus, Huang infuses traditional Chinese dishes with his own flair.

Out of the kitchen, he drew upon his experiences as a first-generation Asian-American to write the memoir “Fresh Off the Boat,” which inspired an ABC sitcom.
