Lolita Fashion at Comic-Con

Young women who dress in the style known as Lolita gathered for a meet-up at Comic-Con, 2010.

Young women gathered from all over the US for the Lolita meet-up at Comic-Con. Lolita is a style of fashion that originated and then took off in mid-90s Japan.  The style is unrelated to the classic novel written by Vladimir Nabokov.

Deidre Funk is from Iowa. She dressed in the boy style of Lolita, also known as "dandy."  She was the only one wearing pants.

Dressing in Lolita style can be very expensive. Dresses can average between $300 and $400, and then you add petticoats, shoes and accessories and it adds up for these young women.
