San Diego Museum of Man
The San Diego Museum of Man is a cultural and physical anthropology museum. They collect, preserve, interpret, and communicate evidence of human development, creativity, and artistic expression. It's about people.
The Museum of Man is the only anthropology and archaeology museum in San Diego County. The Museum is located in Balboa Park in the historic 1915 California Building with its iconic California Tower.
The Museum has outstanding cultural (ethnographic) collections and physical anthropology collections and features five permanent exhibitions, including:
Kumeyaay: Native Californians
Footsteps Through Time: Four Million Years of Human Evolution
Maya: Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth
They also offer changing special exhibits featuring artifacts from their collections and around the world.
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Open through 8:30 p.m. in the summer.
Adults (18 and over) - $12.50
Youths (13-17) & College Students with ID - $8.00
Seniors (62+) & Active Military (with ID) - $10.00
Children (3-12) - $6.00
Members & Children under 3 - FREE
