Ena Newell
Production Center Manager
Ena Craig Newell serves as Production Center Manager at KPBS. Her background is diverse and unique. She graduated from SDSU with her Bachelors degree in Dramatic Arts. After graduation, Ena pursued her passion for the theatre at the Globe, the La Jolla Playhouse and the San Diego Repertory Theatres. Prior to joining KPBS, Ena freelanced in roles ranging from Property Master for films and stage to several years working within the sports networks (ESPN, NBC, etc.) in a wide variety of positions. During this time, Ena also provided her talents to other production houses, both large and small, in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas.
Ena has worked at KPBS since 1998. The first six years at KPBS she worked with the contract for the State of California to produce law enforcement training videos. Ena now manages the Production Department at KPBS, where she is responsible for overseeing the production staff, equipment and resources that create content for KPBS television. KPBS also works with outside clients and provides a multitude of services for hire. Ena works with these clients offering many possibilities for their productions such as studio space, production crews, and equipment.
Ena lives in East County and enjoys quality time with her three children.
