Sarah Moriarty serves as the investigations desk editor, where she oversees development of content for TV, radio and the web. Working with a team of reporters and web producers, Sarah helps cultivate stories that are relevant, in-depth, and reflective of the lives of the KPBS audience.

Before joining KPBS, Sarah was a political producer for Hardball with Chris Matthews on MSNBC, where she interviewed government leaders, analysts, pollsters, authors, and national print journalists.

Prior to MSNBC, Sarah was part of the launch team at Al Jazeera America where she was the executive producer of The Stream, an award-winning TV news magazine show that integrated social media conversation in real time.

During her seven years in Washington D.C., Sarah also created and launched programs for two additional international TV networks as part of initiatives to establish 24-hour, English language news channels. Managing output teams comprised of reporters, producers and writers, Sarah helped craft stories out the Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Before that, Sarah served as an assignment editor and producer for local affiliates including WSMV-TV, in Nashville, Tennessee and KGTV in San Diego.

Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from Ball State University in Indiana. She lives in Hillcrest with her husband and their two dogs.
