I am a retired detective sergeant from one of the largest CALEA certified agencies in the nation. I currently teach criminal justice and police science courses at a community college in the state of tennessee. One of my current classes is Interview and interrogation and this is a case the class has been studying this term. It is shown to the students to hopefully instruct them on what not to do when and if they are ever faced with a horrific case like this. When we in the field of criminal justice hear the terms " swift and sure justice," we cringe as many of us are convinced that if we had swift and sure justice many of the criminals who commit these crimes would think twice before committing such a senseless murder.
