Our Dying Freeways

The Tappan Zee Bridge, which crosses the Hudson River in New York City, was built to handle 18,000 cars a day. It now carries 150,000.

Correction: The Tappan Zee Bridge does cross the Hudson River but not thru New York City. Rather it is a vital connector just to the north of the NYC.
