No Plans To Charge San Diego Family For Sea Rescue Of Baby

If the family lived on the boat for years and dreamed of a voyage around the world, why didn’t they sail away before starting a family? Once they had children, why not wait a few years until their kids wait could enjoy and appreciate the wonderful experience. Stupid perhaps, selfish... absolutely.

San Diego Opera Board Still Making Plans To Close

The IRS and California Attorney General should be looking into the books as soon as possible. An injunction should be sought to freeze the assets until an investigation can be completed. The board of directors did not practice good oversight and has permitted Ian Campbell to loot the opera. Neither of the Campbell’s should benefit further until the books have been found to be in full compliance with non-profit rules. Perhaps if the Campbell’s realize they can’t do a midnight move-out and haul more cash out of SDO’s treasury, they will reconsider the path to keeping the opera viable.

'Generous' Contracts Could Be San Diego Opera’s Biggest Liability

It’s simple. Ian thinks after 30 years this is his own company and wants to close it down because he wants to retire. He also wants to secure his severance and generous retirement benefits while the company has assets. By liquidating, the Campbell’s can have annuities and lump sums settle their retirement benefits called for in their contracts. I agree that exercising the kick-out clauses are truly appropriate at this time.
