SD Emergency Medical Service Partner Denies Wrong Doing After Audit

What a sham! Two cohorts, the City of San Diego and its business partner Rural Metro using a "neutral mediator" to resolve the overbilling issues. Appearances being as they are when a firm apparently bilks the city of $10,000,000 a neutral mediator is not the answer, call in the District Attorney or Attorney General and open a fraud investigation. Odds are if there are "questionable" transactions from Rural Metro in our community there are the same questionable financial practices going on in the 439 communities that Rural Metro services. Somebody sound the alarm!

'Bomb House' Owner Unlikely To Get Compensation

The homeowner should immediately sue the tenant to win the right to negotiate, sell and collect the money from the movie rights and the book deals that the bomb maker is going to be offered.

DeMaio, Fire Chief Spar Over EMT Pay

I agree with DeMaio. The EMT certification is a bare minimum requirement, 8 weeks at a course costing $1000. Now if they are Paramedics and respond on a Paramedic unit, then pay them. But EMTs are 10.00 per hour, firefighters get $45 per hour, no need to spiff them for life because they got a certificate.

The real issue is that SDMSE (the red 911 ambulances) is killing us by not having a Paramedic respond to 911 calls. Instead becasue of a swetheart city contract they can rely on a hook and ladder to show up for every heart attack because the fire rig has a paramedic on board!!!! Yikes!

Make SDMSE show up with Paramedics on every call and stop rolling our million dollar hook and ladder rigs with 3 firefighters on board to every emergency. That will save millions year after year.

Negotiations Continue Over SD Sales Tax Increase

Why is public safety demonized? Look a the fat pension deals for the firefighters and police officers that have been coerced from the city with back room sweetheart deals under fear of service cuts in city services. It is obvious that we cannot afford to pay people 98% of their final pay as retirement. That is not a sustainable economic model, never has been and never will be. Illegal, immoral, and self-serving "public servants" who feel that they are "entitled" to bankrupt our city and that they are somehow "owed" this egregious amount of money is a nauseating proposition foisted on us by threats of brownouts and cuts in service. If this fine city were to do what a business would do to preserve itself and bust the union, fire the whole lot of them and rehire at half the cost the hundreds of highly qualified and employable people who would love to do the job for half the price we wouldn't have brown outs and citizens put at risk by the rape of our coffers by these bandits.
