San Diego Business Leadership Alliance Demands Mayor Filner Resign

I've never seen a man's political career over like this since Nixon in the Watergate scandal. This guy (Filner) has no decency or self-respect, let alone respect for others. If he thinks his 'vision for San Diego' will ever come to pass, he's crazier than any of us image.

Besides, I'd hate to think of what that 'vision' of his is. In his mind it's probably women coming to work with no underwear. Yes, Bob, pun intended.

City Council Won't Pay Filner's Legal Fees

Malcolm SanDiego seems to have it right.

But the city most likely will defend itself and then has every right to sue Filner for reimbursement for any fees / settlements handed out to the accusers. As I pointed out before, I'm not all certain I agree the lawsuit should be against the city in the first place. When you sue the city you are suing the taxpayer. None of us would, or ever have, condoned the behavior by Filner or anyone. Why hold us accountable financially? So many frivolous lawsuits against the city it's hard to defend legitimate ones that make millionnaires out of people at our expense.

I'm not saying the victims don't deserve something, but money? And a lot of it? And from us?

Former San Diego COO: Mayor's Office Canceled Harassment Training

Filner playing dumb is a stretch beyond reason. His actions have been same for years. Is he going to hold the state financially responsible when he was a congressman, too? If his claim holds up in court it will only be a demonstration how our courts allow the taxpayer to be manipulated.

Nice try, Bob, but no cigar.

City Council Won't Pay Filner's Legal Fees

...I'm not all certain I agree with the lawsuit against the city. It should be against Filner, period. We the taxpayer are not responsible for his actions. We are not now, nor have we ever been in a position of controlling the actions of politicians. Why should they demand money from us? I know they forfeited their jobs because of Filner, but to make us pay for them doesn't seem right either. If anyone should pay it should be Filner.

City Council Won't Pay Filner's Legal Fees

....And why should we?

Filner needs to man-up and take responsibility for his own actions. Pay for his fees? Not on our watch.

What's Next For Wikileaks Espionage Case?

As a veteran I was told when I put on that uniform there were certain rights we forfeited. Freedom to speak out against the government being one of them. It's called sedition. This person is a disgrace to the uniform.

Leader Of City's Arts Commission Resigns

This is a good move to demonstrate people unwilling to work with Filner. He has no credibility as a leader. However, people resigning their posts wll be replaced by others working for change in the mayor's office too. I'm not so certain her remaining in her post would have demonstrated her support for Filner as much as her work for the people of San Diego. There is an old saying how you can't change things from the outside.

Former Filner Intern: Mayor's Staff Witnessed Alleged Harassment

Filner's press conference pretty much was an admission of some guilt. I say some because he did not flat out state he actually harassed the people around him. There's no way his state of mind is one the people of San Diego can rely on now. Therapy takes years to correct. He still believes this issue is due to the change of generations no before us. Well 20 years ago sexual harassment was addressed in the work place, too. That would put him at 50 years old, an age where he still knew better than to act the way he did.

The longer he remains in office the more embarrassing this will be for our city. Imagine Bob holding a press conference and being asked a month from now, "Hey Bob, how goes the therapy?" Or "Hey Bob, have you suffered any relapses?"

If he truly wanted help he would resign and check in to these clinics. This is an obvious attempt for him to hold office, not seek help and redemption.

Filner Announces He Will Enter Counseling Clinic; Says Nothing Of Resigning

The one thing a leader in any position cannot afford to lose is respect. When one does it is either a long road to regain the respect one needs to lead, or you never get it back at all. Fair or not, that is the way it is.

At this point we know Filner's guilty of mistreating women. Harassing them even. He admitted it again. We know any financial settlement San Diego pays to the victims may be counter-sued for Filner to repay the city, so his attempt to hide his money under veil of the mayor's office is out. At this point he can only remain in office for one reason.

You need to leave office, Bob. We deserve better.
