I applied for food stamps earlier this week, I was told by a phone screener i qualified. I spent 2 hours waiting in a very cramped room 2 be denied because i am on a fixed disability income of 840.00 a month. i have depended on my family for help with allot of basic needs. unfortunately i can no longer depend on my only other resource cause of a medical tragedy as of two weeks ago. It is sad that when someone really needs help, they cannot get a basic necessity like food.
