How Will Governor Brown's Budget Plan Affect Local Governments?

There is very little difference between Brown's budget proposals and previous budgets, because Brown's budget is mastered-minded by the oil industry. There is no provision for ending corporate tax loopholes, no oil extraction tax and no oil corporation, windfall profits tax. Californians pay the highest price for gasoline in the nation. Brown's budget is the same, because again, this budget picks on the most vulnerable. Jerry apppears to be working for Big Oil and not for the Californians who voted for him.

Prop. 23 Backers Straddle Political Lines

PROP 26 is just as damaging as PROP 23. Prop 26 is a treacherous, Big Oil rip-off, which "passes the buck" from oil corporation, clean-up fees to the public's taxes, which will pay the oil recycling fees, the materials hazards fees and other fees. If you do not understand the the ambiguities and the intrigues behind Prop 26, then, vote no. Shell, Exxon Mobil and BP are silent partners in Prop 26. Power to the people.

Domestic Violence Shelters In Deep Hole

Chevron gouged $24 billions in excessive profits in 2008, as per www.tyrannyofoil.com. Schwarzenegger should put an excessive profits tax on these profits, instead of protecting the oil corporations from fair taxation, then, there would be sufficent public funds for all the vulnerable, people programs. Big business lost the fight to eliminate domestic violence funding, so now they are coming back with a vengeance. The First Lady of California has done absolutely nothing for battered women, ever since her husband vetoed funds for battered women shelters. There is no funding provision for battered women shelters in the May Revise. Schwarzee picks on the most vulnerable and not on corporate tax "deadbeats." Schwarzenegger, Shriver, Maldonado and Whitman could not care less whether battered women live or die. Battered mothers and their children are not expendable.

Will Prop. 23 Create Jobs?

The California Jobs Initiative (CJI) is an oil corporation farce and fraud. There is no connection, whatsoever, between greenhouse gas emission reduction and the loss of jobs. This notion is an insult to the intelligence of the people of California. In fact, there is job growth in the clean, renewable energy industry. Chevron employs 65,000 worldwide and CJI is not going to change this. The only jobs created by the oil industry are clean-up jobs after oil spills and deep water, blow-outs and pump-handler jobs. CJI will make fantastic profits for the oil industry, increase air pollution, especially in communities around their refineries, and there will not be lower gas prices. Koch Industries, Valero and Tesoro are super Enrons. Since when did the oil companies start to show any concern for the unemployed and their families and for small businesses?
