The author responds: We do agree on EL INFIERNO. It was highly cynical and short on social commentary. But, that's a social commentary right there--how can things get better if they aren't questioned? I hope you didn't think that I was glorifying the film... And yes, I did consider it a "losing effort." However, it was interesting from other angles.
The author responds: I appreciate your comment. Everyone has a right to their own opinion. LA OTRA FAMILIA may well be a "soap-box film advocating adoption for "same-sex" couples/marraiges south-of-the-border." I am not commenting on same-sex marriages--just production values/quality of the film. As per the acting, if you mean good acting is routine, I agree with you.
Last year, you may have seen 10 people in the audience in Mexico. At SDLFF, it played to packed houses. Again, thanks for your comments.
