How convenient for the district and Dr. Gandara to schedule the next board meeting on the first day of school. i guess he really doesn't want a large turn out. Then the usual meetings at the beginning of the year have been cancelled. A budget cut? or is he afraid of teachers expressing their dissatisfaction of his leadership. Wake up school board. You will be accountable for the actions of Dr. Gandara. Start listening to your constituency. Enough is enough!
The situation in the Sweetwater Union High School District is appalling. As a long time employee, I have never seen morale as low as it is today. It has been a long downward spiral under the leadership of Dr. Jesus Gandara. He rules by fear and intimidation. Dissent and discussion is not allowed. We have a dictator. When will the school board wake up? More and more local constituents are speaking out against Gandara's leadership and the present school board that rubber stamps all of Gandara's decisions. Promotions are not based on merit. Agree with the Superintendent and you will be promoted. Don't even think of asking questions or dissenting. If you do disgree or question, you'll face a future like Karen Janney and Dr.Carbury.
Did Dr. Gandara break his contract by going to Texas and interviewing for a position there? Why has he spent District funds on frequent trips to Texas and Monterey? How can the District spend $17 million on consultants and the Board doesn't even bat an eye? Whatever it costs to send Dr. Gandara back to Texas....it will be money well spent!
