Four More Women Accuse Filner

No, I don't think so. I think that McCormack-Jackson was the courageous leader. She was the one who wouldn't take it anymore and broke the silence. But she had employment protection as a long time tenured city employee. Plus even through Frye she tried to warn off Filner to just resign and not take on a whirlwind. Just think of all the stories from his congressman days.

Four More Women Accuse Filner

I have several reactions from all this. At one level I wish some of these women would have resisted him at the time in a non gracious way. I think women should be trained and prepared to physically resist attackers. And that is what he is. If Bob Filner had gotten a broken nose out of one of these assaults he might have backed off. The women were way too compliant with him. Next many of these stories seem to me to be actual cases of battery or some other legal, criminal charge. I wish they had been charged and prosecuted at the time. I guess men in power get away with stuff. Finally, I think that Filner suffers from a true emotional disturbance. He needs psychiatric help but not while mayor of SD.
