USD Blacklisting Speaker Over Gay Marriage Support Creates Fallout

I'd not be surprised to find Doug Manchester is behind this.

Jacobs Endorses DeMaio For San Diego Mayor

That's just crazy. How can a guy give $1Million to an Obama PAC and then endorse DeMaio? He has put aside all considerations and Democratic Party ideals, including arts support which is important to him, in favor of that doomed Cabrillo Bridge offramp project. I also wish KPBS would investigate Jacobs political pressure on The Lt. Gov. leading to the retiring of the State Historic Preservation Officer. But I fear he is too big a KPBS supporter for that to happen.

Baby You Can Drive My Car2Go

There are a lot of cool places in South Park. Unfortunitly, the Sea Rocket Bistro is not one of them. They are located in North Park.

Entertainment District Proposed For Downtown San Diego

Just an excuse to have Tokyo-style jumbotron billboards on the side of the buildings of the Horton Plaza mall. We know how Westfield is so creative at adding huge ads where nobody thought they could be allowed. The use of the word "Arts" on the name of it is just a hook, why not rename every hotel in town the "Arts" hotel because of the TOT money they collect?

Roundtable: Balboa Park, Bridgepoint, Backcountry Wildlife Killings

I'm never going to "accept" the Jacobs plan, even if it does get started or gets built. I still don't accept the Federal government condemning land for the hospital expansion, the garbage dump at Florida Canyon, or the demolition of the Expo buildings for the Timken and the Art Museum expansion. Historians don't forget. This is one in a long list of bad plans that will be defeated like the 163 widening, demolition of the Ford Building, and the Switzer Canyon freeway.

Funding Lacking For Underground Parking At Balboa Park, Budget Analyst Says

The Plaza de Panama Comittee, I understand, had changed the parking capacity estimations three times now. Where they being conservative then, or now?
At a certain level of fee avoidance, the number of parking spaces goes down, not up. The whole plan is really a house of cards in so many ways.

DeMaio Warns Stations To Stop Running Negative Ad

Is Terry Bennett the officer whose funeral DeMaio was texting during, where he left early and dropped his program on the floor? If it is, I can see why his widow would be upset.

Complications Persist For Plaza De Panama Project

I disagree with your written statement that "the City Council has indicated approval of the project". When they voted on the MOU ( which was later declared illegal by a judge) they were all clear to state that this was not an approval of the project, just a chance to let it see how it would go, and to not hinder the fundraising. Still waiting for an update on the fundraising, apparently the total cost has gone up another $5 million.
I was dismayed with David Marshall's implications about Alana Coons not having the document text in front of her. She did not know the program was even going to be aired until after it had started, thus no time to prepare.

Plaza de Panama Supporters Say Opponents Using Scare Tactics

Has there ever been a more one-sided article on KPBS? I really expected more from you on this one
I would call the fast-motion videos of cars and pedestrians that the Jacobs team has been circulating "scare tactics". They want you to believe that it is only a matter of time before you get hit by a car in the Plaza, despite no documentation that this has ever happened in the last 97 years. How about spending some
money to fix a real problem, like the NW corner of 54th and University, where there are a few pedestrian injuries every year?
The fast-motion video I really want to see, but alas never will, is the parade of lobbyists running in and out of the City Council offices.

Neighbors Shocked By Walmart's Partial Demolition of Iconic Building

Nikkineel: I believe the Sherman Heights Historic District boundaries stop across the street to the North. The Farmers Market Building is just inside the Logan Heights neighborhood. But it does have stand-alone historic significance.
