A good friend and I caught "Tommy" during its last weekend. I really wanted to like the production, but ... well, "Tommy" is challenging. And that probably made it a good learning experience for the kids, but perhaps not the best choice for marketing as a professional production (with prices set accordingly).
Neither my friend nor I could come up with a reason for the casting of B-Slade as Tommy that made any sense. The qualities that make him a good pop/hip-hop vocal artist have little congruence with those that make a good "Tommy". An explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
