Protesters Call For Walmart To Pay A Living Wage
Interesting comments... I showed up at a Chula Vista Walmart on Black Friday to hopefully raise some consciousness about Walmart's practices, (part of the Making Change at Walmart effort). Hardly any like-minded folks showed up -- and few shoppers seemed to care. It's going to be a long road if this event is any indication of community interest.
Interestingly I did the same thing a year prior at the Grossmont Center Wallyworld and there seemed to be much more interest -- pro and con. More than a few (from a predictable demographic) were visibly angered and had choice words to say to me as they walked by. References to communism and "if they don't like it, they can find another job" were the norm. Easier said than done, I'd say...

A Conversation With San Diego Mayoral Candidate Nathan Fletcher
I have to confess I haven't paying much attention to the guy -- but it really smacks of opportunism. How can someone, (in such a short time-span) go from Republican, to Independent, to Democrat? Not the best analogy -- but kinda reminds me of Mitt Romney, a hyper-ambitious fella aptly named a "well-oiled weathervane." (Go David Alvarez!).

Interim Mayor Gloria Defends Convention Center Expansion
Now that Filner has been evicted we can get back to the real business at hand -- namely who'll get these lucrative contracts and subsidizing billionaires for an unneeded stadium. (Shaking my head in disbelief...)

The Women Who Accused Filner Talk About Coming Forward
Wow... KPBS keeps milking this Filner thing for all it's worth. Very disappointing and yes, I am reconsidering my monthly dues. Fink's 15 minutes is about up I hope. That "pat" on the posterior was probably the best thing ever for her career.
