Dr. Goldman was basically allowed to have a free commercial on KPBS. He ran down his competition with no comment from the host. I really didn't appreciate his implication that nurses are inferior and unsafe practitioners. A nurse anesthetist is just as qualified as any other anesthetist with intense educational requirements and oversight. Furthermore, I would far rather have a nurse do my injectables since she does them all day every day, unlike the surgeon who is squeezing in a little Botox between boob jobs to maximize his bottom line. I find nurses to be good at listening to my concerns far better than doctors who have superior attitudes and think they know what's right for me.
