Not "natural"?! Having grown up on a farm, I can tell you that all sort of things happen in "nature". Sure, animals are biologically programmed to reproduce, but that doen't mean that all animals (including human) only interact physically/sexually for the purpose of making babies. Are you also pondering whether the only people who should marry are those who promise to have sex only with eachother and have children? Rules out the infertile, older, etc.

I was talking with a friend who lived in Japan, and he said having only gay solidiers stationed at based there might be welcomed by the Japanese, as it would lessen the risk of their school girls being raped, as has happend on more than one occasion. Rape should certainly not be considered "natural", but it is all too common by heterosexuals.

By all means, all members of the military should behave in a professional way and keep their private lives private, but that has nothing to do with orientation. Pity that some people are so obsessed with sex that they must know who is doing what to whom so they can condemn it.

For as long as there have been militaries, there has been problems with sex -- inappropriate relationships with civilians, rape, pregnancy, even sexually motivated murders, etc. Please note that these problems are with HETEROsexuals.

Sure, some people will be "uncomfortable" showering and sleeping next to someone they know is gay, but personally I am uncomfortable in those situations regardless of gender or preference.

Unless you want to date the person, his/her sexuality is none of your business and that person should not be discriminated against because of it -- Not in military, marriage, employment or anything else.
