Where Do You Stand On California's Proposition 8?

DLR, IF the institution of marriage is corrupt, (are you just talking USA or including Western hemisphere and Europe?), WHY on earth would a group of people want to be corrupted??? There is nothing but illogic in your statement.

Check the 2012 US Census, for the first time, non-married couples living together OUTNUMBER the married ones. So it is a contradiction for those same couples to want something for others they don't wish for themselves. And on a level of "entitlements," nothing that civil unions couldn't take care of. Again, more illogical thinking on the part of these people.

Where Do You Stand On California's Proposition 8?

JOHN MARK says "I was hoping to see what some of the regular leftists here had to say about our responses. I guess in the face of absolute logic, it is hard to present an argument that holds water."

I guess our JOHN MARK considers Carl De Maio, Bonnie Dumanis, Dick Cheney, Newt Gringrinch, Jerry Sanders, and an obscure Republican congressman from Ohio, all SUPPORTERS of same-sex marriage, to be Leftwing, eh???

@Alex, it's the typical American bumper-sticker level sloganeering. It is common of the Left AND the Right. It fails to advance the debate, regardless of the issue at hand.

Where Do You Stand On California's Proposition 8?

I remember last year Tom Fudge wrote an article: Someone Has to Stand Up for Prop 8.

Is he still employed by KPBS???

Where Do You Stand On California's Proposition 8?

No, ANITA, wrong, wrong. Marriage is NOT a "right" in and of itself.

@TB, NO it is NOT "chosen." That's the whole point. Concur with the rest.

Street Dealers Fuel Spike In Violence In Tijuana

I didn't see your last comment. San Diego is promoted enough. Tijuana residents are big consumers in San Diego, or didn't you know? EVEN to the economic detriment to their own economy. Pretty much everytime a boycott has been organized in Tijuana, it has failed. Mexican Federal government efforts to keep conusmers in Mexico have also failed for the most part. This has been going on for years. Whom so you think kept that Costco (former Price Club) on Broadway in Chula Vista during the 80s??? Whom do you think have kept the anchor stores at Chula Vista Center going since the early 80s? And drive through the Las Americas parking lots today. See where the license plates are from. Baja plates are even with CA, and if it were not for the employees, probably outnumbered them.

do your research man.

CA Offender, if an unescorted young woman is not afraid of traveling by car or on foot to Tijuana, why should you? Do you really think someone's bad experience is a deterrent to others??? No, because it is NOT a pattern. (You should see all the girls going down there on warm Friday or Saturday nights, dressed as Alex would say, at the "height of fashion"!) Mmmaybe you're the type that is afraid of his own shadow, in which case I fully understand. What's more, you can add upper middle class white Santa Monica to your "do not go" list.

I would love to visit the nation's capital, no matter who was president.

John Mark, anecdotal evidence is never enough by itself, regardless of the issue. But the fact remains about the east side of town. This is evident in their radio, TV, and online news whenever a murder comes up. Playas or downtown or the area around the Caliente stadium is uncommon. On the other hand, areas known as Mariano Matamoros and near the dam, are much more common crime areas. If businesses on both sides feel secure enough to hold business fairs such as "Tijuana Inovadora" maybe you sure share in their sentiment. Look north, Santa Monica is on a roll!

Takes your James Holmes, he has a higher per capita murder rate than say the small-time pusher who stabbed to death another small-time pusher.
