Welcome to Washington, err San Diego. This is what you get when you blindly vote for somebody because of their party affiliation and not their record or character or qualifications for the office they are seeking. The other part of this story is why did Filner reflexively veto a project approval over something as minor as this? Vetoes are for serious, more fundamental matters, not because a project is requesting a setback variance from a park the developer is building. If Filner keeps up his corrupt practices, "recall" will be the headlines moving forward. San Diegans should show him that we don't tolerate bribes, corruption, and heavy-handed politicking in our town.
