Kevin Faulconer leads David Alvarez in latest poll for San Diego mayoral race

Either KPBS should stop quoting the UT's polls, OR you must remind people that the UT has a history of polling Republicans and presenting the results as meaning something that they do not. Every time you quote the UT, KPBS loses credibility. Even Republicans know these polls are a waste of money and meaningless -- unless you think lying and misleading the politically uninformed is valid media activity.

Second Opinion: How Does Obamacare Address End-of-Life Care?

Thanks, Megan ... good so far as it goes. Since Johnson is interested in Parkinson's, I thought the following would be enlightening:
Help Remove Medicare Coverage Barriers!
From time to time the Parkinson's Association of San Diego will share information from the Parkinson's Action Network that requires your action to impact the lives of those living with Parkinson's disease.

Congress is currently reviewing a number of Medicare proposals, and your continued advocacy on this issue is needed to keep it top of mind for your Representative during these discussions.

Many with Parkinson’s disease use physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy services to maintain their quality of life and independence. Unfortunately, Medicare limits or “caps” the amount it will pay for these therapy services in a calendar year. The cap on therapy services places an undue burden on many individuals with Parkinson’s and other diseases whose annual costs for these services exceed the cap.

While PAN works every year to ensure Congress passes an exception to the cap, a permanent solution is needed to ensure people with Parkinson’s and other diseases will never be denied medically necessary therapy services. That is why PAN supports the Medicare Access to Rehabilitation Services Act of 2013, which would repeal the Medicare therapy caps. Please contact your Member of Congress and ask him/her to co-sponsor the Medicare Access to Rehabilitation Services Act of 2013 (H.R. 713/S. 367).

P.S. – Have questions about the therapy cap or exceptions process? Contact Catherine Pugh at or 202-638-4101 ext. 101.
