Study: Most Adults Arrested In San Diego County Not On Probation

SANDAG has a way of sugar coating data. One is reminded of the Final Report on the SB 618 program instituted by DA Bonnie Dumanis. That report talked up and down about statistics, but in the final analysis it revealed that the participants, in what was basically a social welfare program for felons, had a higher rate of recidivism than non-participants. In this new report the bottom line is that AB 109 is resulting in higher rates of recidivism.

Judge Seals District Attorney Office Records In Chula Vista Investigation

The use of the power of the office of the District Attorney to impose political retaliation is an example of gross corruption. The lack of ethics displayed by Bonnie Dumanis continues to tarnish the image of the office and is drawn into focus by her refusal to turn over documents that both the defendant and the public have a right to see. Hopefully her ploy of stonewalling will not benefit her at the polls on June 3. It is clearly a time for a change in leadership at the DA's office.

State Attorney General Investigating San Diego Opera

Why is the office of the Attorney General, a state agency, conducting an investigation of the San Diego Opera. The opera has no state impact, it is a local entity. If there is an investigation to be done, why is it not being conducted by the District Attorney? Is there yet another conflict of interest involving DA Dumanis? What is the full story here?

Former Chula Vista Aide Seeks To Undo Plea Deal Over Dumanis Call

All Dumanis has to do to prove that she acted ethically and legally in the Padilla/Castaneda deal is to release the e-mails and other related documents that KPBS has requested. That she continues, now for months, to withold those documents is a clear indication that she is culpable. Clearly she is holding her breath, hoping that she can get past June 3, before she is found out. The problem for her is that the voters have figured her out.

Dumanis Challenged To Release Records In Chula Vista Political Probe

Deny and delay, the mantra of the corrupt politician.

Prosecutor Confirms Records Sought By KPBS Exist In DA's Office

These are typical slimy politician tactics. Deny and delay, until after the primary election. This whole deal just reeks of political scandal. Now Dumanis just adds to it in trying to keep the facts from coming out. Apparently she didn't learn the lesson given in the Watergate scandal, where the cover-up was more damaging than the act. She has pulled the same act where requests have been made for her to reveal how she has spent asset-forfeiture grants, which many believe she is using for her own political slush fund. Deny and delay.

Ex-Chula Vista Councilman Wants DA To Release Emails

Fat chance Dumais is going to do anything but cover up, be unavailable for comment and have her campaign spokespeople deny. A classic example of the abuse of prosecutorial power for political gain. Hopefully the voters of San Diego are getting this...

San Diego County DA Dumanis Lags In Fundraising Among Legal Professionals

So Dumanis doesn't have an independent committee supporting her, this time around. Perhaps she hopes the voters will forget about her last independent committee that took a couple of hundred grand from a Mexican billionaire, after Dumanis met with him. It is no surprise that the legal community is supporting Brewer. They know he is a man of integrity. On this issue there is no contest. Dumanis has proved she is a slippery politician who is not to be trusted.

Phone Call Raises Questions About DA Dumanis' Chula Vista Investigations

This is just another example of how our politically corrupt District Attorney operates. Illegal campaign contributions, the hyped up South Bay prosecutions, designed to bolster her campaign for mayor, her retaliation against those in her office who dare disagree with her and now this, a prosecution for purely political purposes. Dumanis has repeatedly demonstrated how she is willing to abuse her prosecutorial power to advance her political career. Hopefully San Diego voters will take the opportunity in the June primary election to sweep the corruption out of the District Attorney's office.
