Activists Plan Keystone XL Pipeline Rally In Coronado

Sorry, yes toeing. In reply, I was expanding on your sweeping observation. "They are nothing but "useful idiots" at the mercy of people who who understand mass-psychology and how to use peoples emotions to control them." Sounds like a statement about being influenced by larger interests to me. I'm just saying Republicans are "useful idiots" as well.

You may not have said that, but I did.

Uh... JM, I think you need to include Republicans in that one. Aren't they known for towing the line? (Not a Communist one obviously, but a puppet none the less of larger intersts)

Plenty of blame to go around.

Section 8, Zero Tolerance And One Family Pushed To The Brink

Menatl illnes is not an excuse for criminal behavior. What was the extent of abuse on the child? The article explains that the family had an appeal process, and given thier circumstances I imagine had a shot at staying in thier home. So what do you do about the choice they made to not follow the appeal? Where is the personal responsability?

One could say that these disadvantaged people can't cope with the situation, or don't have the resources, or something like that. You know what, neither do I, I miss work-I don't get paid. I make it work and I take care of myslef. They are waiting for someone to take care of them.

I'm sorry this happend, but I can see one point where bad decisions were made. This is the result. Personal accountability has to step in at some point.

Review: 'Evil Dead'

This movie does not deserve the use of the title. It was, well, meh...

Road Rage Incident At Camp Pendleton Grabs National Headlines (Video)

First we train our youth to be killing machines, then we subject them to incredibly stressful and dangerous environments where they may be killed at any moment, then we dump them off into our society. It's irresponsible to sit here and comment "support our troops" as if anyone who recognizes this issue is somehow anti-troops. I'm frankly sick of it.

I know a special ops marine who is on steriods and can kill you in a heartbeat. He has anger issues and has a very short fuse. He is a disaster waiting to happen... Some of these guys are weaponized, and are not "just struggling" with PTSD. There is a big issue here, what do we do with these people WE have done this to?

I don't know the specifics of the marine in this incident, but his behaivor is greatly unbecoming and should be prosecuted. If the Marines are held to a higher standard then prove it. Otherwise keep your divisive and flag waving comments to yourself becasue I'm not buying it.

Growing Population Of Muslims Calling Tijuana Home

I saw this place in Playas about 8 months ago (went to the grocery store next door). When I asked other Tijuaneros about it they were very surprised, however, no one had negative comments.

Supervisors Push For Changes To Homeless Funding Formulas

"Cox and Roberts said the county's around 10,000 transients ranked behind homeless populations in only New York City and Los Angeles."

Why doesn't anyone wonder where the heck these homeless people are comimg from? Are they really all San Diegans? If they were shipped here by another municipality, they should be shipped back.

Anyone who thinks housing all these unfortunate people (because we know they are ALL victims of Capitalism) in one geographic area, like Mayor Filner suggested, is a big mistake. Any normaly functioning person who would want to live amongst them is crazy. In the early 80's in Chicago, our Mayor moved into the projects to make a point. Filner should do the same if he want's to house everyone so much.

Filner Issues Emergency Order To Close La Jolla Children's Pool

If your going to prohibit humans from using this artificial cove, then the sea wall should be demolished and the shoreline returned to nature. Then if seals show up, fine. Right now we have an artificially created haven for the seals, and if I'm not mistaken, maintaining that's not in Park & Rec's charter. I want my TAX money to stop protecting these seals. I will donate to an appropriate organisation if i want to protect them otherwise.

Also, making a habit of hurting animals for no good reason is a a sign of being a sociopath. Although I would have a hard time believing that these girls did anything more than harass them. I didnt see any punching on the video. But it sure gives you more impact if you exaggerate the situation.

Location Will Make A Difference In Price Of Health Insurance

JM and Alex. You guys are just lumping everyone into a neat little compartment and wrapping it up with a bow. These situations are not black and white.

Regarding pregnant woman- JM what are you going to do? Yell at her and tell her to deliver her own baby? Force her to have an abortion?(Who pays for that?) You don't anything about her background or how she ended up in this situation. What if she IS poor, does she not have a right to have children? If you say no, what are you going to do, force sterilization? See, none of these issues are neat and tidy. My gut instinct is to say the same thing you said, but when you stop and think about it, it's just not that easy.

Alex- so there are only two types of people in the world? Those that work out and those that eat McD? I hope none of those healthy people have any genetic predisposition to some sort of illness that would lump them into the "users" group that eats McD. There are all sorts of people that fit somewhere in between these two simple descriptions. Your example strikes me as a Fox-ism. It's us and them, and no room for anything else.

Lastly, only 4% of the USA population depends entirely on welfare. Look it up.(By the way, most are white.) Can we please stop with obsessing on these few people and start talking more about the other 96%.

Ok benz72. A woman is preganant and can't afford prenatal care or delivery charges. How do you propose we limit that impact?
