Many Layers, And S.D. Connections To Male Circumcision Debate

As Hugh7 notes, penile cancer is rare. It is rarer than male breast cancer, but no one is advocating excising breast tissue of infants. Also, the American Cancer Society does not recommend circumcision as a preventative for penile cancer.

With respect to the trials conducted in Africa, they are only part of the data. There was a study in Uganda that found that male circumcision increased the HIV risk for women. That study offsets any perceived benefit of male circumcision for men. See http://www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

Many Layers, And S.D. Connections To Male Circumcision Debate

As a man who was circumcised shortly after birth, I am happy to see the responses here. Infant ircumcision is an outdated practice that needs to stop. I have started restoring my foreskin and, as I slowly regain some of what I lost from my circumcision, Iam amazed at how good it feels to have a foreskin.

I can only hope that as more people learn about the harms of circumcision that the practice will stop in the United States just as it has stopped in other first world countries.
