Unfortunately, the article does not mention that the pro-health care people outnumber the anti-health care people by at least 10 to 1.
Given that the most common sign carried by the anti-health care were racial caricatures, I'm not sure that what really motivates them is the minutia of the health care debate. These were fringe people.
Arguments like, “Government, you give them a dollar to go buy groceries, they’ll come back with ten cents worth of groceries" are also specious. Medicare, America's government run single payer plan for the elderly, has a lower overhead rate than any private insurance company and has seen lower cost growth rates cost than private insurance. Blanket statements like the one quoted are false.
It's time to start having a substantive debate in this country and not let things get hijacked by the fringes.
