I just listened to the program about selling the fairgrounds. Being a Santee resident, I can't stand the thought of Del Mar purchasing a piece of property that is a part of San Diego and available to ALL it's residents. If Del Mar is allowed to buy this, it will be the end of the fair as we know it. To quote Mayor Earnest "We like out quiet village". Del Mar has already taken steps to ruin their own city by disallowing their business owners from remodeling and getting rid of the train stop. They have isolated themselves from the "lower class masses" that makes up the rest of San Diego. To quote Preston Vorlicek, who sits on the finance committee, "He prefers to close the fairgrounds and racetrack and build low-density housing. It would improve the quality of life for Del Mar residents". How arrogant!! A town of 3500 ppl over the millions of San Diego residents should not be allowed to control this!
