I just wanted to comment that PETA is essentially a domestic terrorist organization. They support the individuals and organizations that commit atrocious crimes in the name of animals such as the ALR. Let's also not forget Mary Beth Sweetwater who, as second in command at PETA, said that it was ok for her to take her animal-produced insulin because she was fighting for animal rights. PETA has been known to doctor reports and photographs to make out that animals are being mistreated. I would not put it past this organization to create and/or doctor video footage of elephants being mistreated.
More to the topic, I have to agree with what one of the callers mentioned - horses and other animals are trained in similar ways and special equipment is used to keep the animals in line.
There is something to be said for the PETA members fighting for 'animal welfare and rights' when simultaneously benefiting from the research that has come at the expense of those animals. Without animal research, millions of HUMAN BEINGS would die or suffer unnecessarily. PETA is made up of a bunch of hypocritical terrorists and I would appreciate they not be given serious consideration on a program such as yours.
