I haven't read through all 130-something comments, so this may be redundant.I'm writing to express my disappointment in the decision to drop Performance Today.
I grew up listening to classical music on public radio and I find it extremely depressing that my local public radio program does not air ANY classical music during the week & very little on the weekend.
The decision to cut Performance Today is particularly disappointing. Performance Today does a wonderful job making classical music interesting and relatable to a younger generation. I was looking forward to listening to it with my own children when they are old enough and I already miss listening to it.
I tried listening to Q tonight and ended up turning it off. It was just too much talk for me in the evening. I hope you will consider reinstating Performance Today.
(Until reading the post above, I was not aware that KPBS had a classical music channel (If I understand KPBS HD2 correctly). It may be beneficial to mention this on KPBS when discussing the new schedule.)
Thanks for the opportunity to share my opinion.
