Whether or not you find the comparison insulting, there is very real damage done to the male in circumcision. The two most erotic parts of a male, the frenulum and inner foreskin, are either cut in half, or permanently removed. The head is a distant third in pleasure for most men with foreskins. Doing this surgery for something which has no proven benefit, only, as the AMA puts it, "potential benefits", is not sound practice. It is unethical to remove a healthy body part from a non-consenting person.Doctors took an oath about this practice, which they quickly forget in the face of money. Babies are not born needing cosmetic surgery. The vast majority Europeans, South Americans, and Asians go their whole lives, with no circumcision, and no problems. Circumcised men get all the diseases and conditions men with foreskins get, at about the same rates, as shown in many studies, from Australia, New Zealand, Britain, and Canada. The US should either conduct its own studies, which it will never do, because that would force it to give up its cash cow, or it should abandon the practice, as so many other formerly circumcising countries have done. Depending on 3 incomplete African studies, while ignoring 6 African studies which show a lower HIV rate for uncircumcised men, is poor science, and a crutch. Foreskins are a source of joy, for their owners, and their owner's partners.
