Mayor Filner Re-Opens Door For Medical Marijuana Collectives In San Diego

Finally, a bit of progress.

Filner's open support for the rights of 'Qualified Medical Marijuana Patients" (as defined by State Law) is a breath of fresh air here in San Diego.

Since District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis began systematic raids in 2009, our community has been under attack.

Current State Law CLEARLY allows 'sales' of marijuana BY a dispensing collective to their qualified patient members. Our DA Dumanis continues to IGNORE this. Instead she and her office wastes millions of OUR dollars pursuing her personal hatred and bias. THIS MUST STOP.

Local Medical Marijuana activist groups are working in concert to regain 'safe acess to medicine'. Filner's support is a huge encouragement to our supporters, many who have been jailed, and financially ruined under the Dumanis reign of terror.

Thanks to ALL in the community for the continued hard work.

Key State Commissioner Reverses Himself, Urges Customers Pay For SDG&E's '07 Fire Costs

I'll wager my work-truck against just a dollar that Timothy Simon goes right to work for SEMPRA or SDGE, right after his upcoming retirement at the end of this year.

At his FINAL meeting as a rate commissioner, he sure gave them both a nice gift!

Sadly, this is not outrageous, rather, this is normal.

U-T San Diego's Mayoral Poll Skewed Republican

In their targeted polling, they also omitted a much larger group, which I belong to: former subscribers.

Personal Calendar Reveals DeMaio Met With U-T San Diego's Manchester

DeMaio is opportunistic, he obviously twists the truth, and obviously is Papa Doug's tool. Odd how DeMaio agrees to lie down with 'Yes on 8(hate)" Manchester...
Politics makes strange bedfellows indeed!

Here, we find that DeMaio fabricated 'no meeting' with Manchester. A blatant deception.

Just last week, DeMaio fabricated a 'working relationship with the Medical Marijuana Community' (where absolutely none ever existed).

Fortunately, come November 6, he can't fabricate votes. THIS is just another nail in his coffin, and another reason to vote for FILNER for our next Mayor.

Last Medical Marijuana Co-Op In San Diego To Remain Open Temporarily

Thanks for the coverage of this important issue.

It's about the money! ONLY the US Attorney, Laura Duffy is behind the push for this closure. I pray the DEA does not use their brutal 'nuclear option': breaking down the door, destroying the equipment and fixtures, and robbing the cash register.

Did you know that a significant portion of the US Attorney's budget is covered by seized assets? Duffy is trying to seize the half-million dollar building this Dispensary operates out of, trying to steal it from a retired man who owns it and rents it to the Dispensary.

A couple notes:

MEAHC serves several thousand, NOT 70 thousand qualified medical marijuana patients.

The San Diego County Sheriff department visits them monthly to ensure they are in complete compliance with the law. They have found no violations, and have proven to be an exceptional operator.

This is the ONLY facility in San Diego County that is permitted (by the County), if it closes there is NO place for the most severely sick and dying patients to get their medical marijuana.

San Diego City Attorney Jan Goldsmith, and US Attorney Laura Duffy have successfully closed most all other dispensaries in the County, a few brave facilities remain open.

John Redman/REDFY is on record making incorrect statements about this issue - please use due diligence when reading his 'facts'. He stated just the day before (in a local TV interview) that "this Dispensary does NOT follow State laws, and that is why it is being closed"... a complete inaccuracy.

Fighting For Medical Marijuana At County's Only Licensed Dispensary

the article refers to "Unincorporated San Diego County."

Within the County of San Diego, there is only one 'licensed dispensary': the Mother Earth Alternative Healing Cooperative. For that matter, it is the one and only 'licensed dispensary' within the surrounding FOUR counties.

Our US Attorney, Laura Duffy has been particularly effective in completely closing almost every dispensing collective within every City in San Diego County, and now, in the County itself.

It is located next to Gillespie Field in an unincorporated area bordering El Cajon.

Please check FB/twitter for info on July 25th events to protest this outrageous action.

Manchester's Reported Plan To Buy OC Register Called Shrewd Move

A sad day for freedom of expression. Sadder still that THIS article fails to mention the harsh change of direction Manchester has done with SD U-T (BOTH News & Editorial)

I cringe to think of the strong, libertarian-leaning Register being taken over to the dark side by Manchester/Lynch.

They bought the SD Union as a tool to help them with their pro-development interests in San Diego Downtown, as well as to peddle their particular brand of hate(h8te) against all those who go to a different church than they do, or who don't happen to be straight.

SDG&E Expects Customers Will Pay Pending '07 Wildfire Claims

"SDG&E is confident that customers will ultimately foot the bill."

And I am confident their parent company, SEMPRA and their investors will pay the bill.

Let's see how it plays out in the court of public opinion.

SDG&E'sr assertions are outrageous, their practices are negligent, they care ONLY for their corporate profit-statement, all at the expense of San Diego residents.

Game on, SDG&E.

Regulators To Delay Decision On SDG&E Uninsured Wildfire Reimbursement

Outraged? Stop complaining to folks who cannot do anything about it.

If you support a public hearing on this matter, call NOW to the CPUC at 415 - 703 - 2782 and leave a message for Assigned Commissioner Timothy Alan Simon and President Michael Peevey.

Tell them you are a customer of SDG&E you demand a public hearing in San Diego be held by the CPUC on the WEBA (Wildfire Expense Balancing Account) application.

The CPUC is a governmental body, established in the California Constitution. It is your right as a citizen to contact them and make your voice head.

If you don't call, they will listen ONLY to SDGE
