Local Primary Races Starting To Take Shape

II remember Kim Tran from a TV newscast last year where she was walking business to business in City Heights posting flyers warning on that guy who was raping Asian women. I wouldn't walk around in City Heights. She must have guts. Seems like a great lady.

I think you make a good point regarding grassroots support making up for a lack of money. I noticed Kim Tran For City Council signs (6th) showing up all over my neighborhood in both yards and in local business storefronts. I noticed she was not part of your conversation. I decided to call her and found that she was not accepting donations. She told me her support was from the average citizens and small business's that are suffering the most under this rescission and she believed she could win without spending huge amounts of money because as you mentioned a Council District is much smaller and that she had decided to wage a non traditional grassroots campaign. I checked her website out at

and found she had 40 to 50 small business in the district supporting her campaign. You discussed big business, Labor and Developers support; but, I was intrigued by a candidate that wasn't taking money and yet appears to have support of small business's. I think its about time we stepped away from the traditional candidates supported by the same cast of characters that are largely responsible for the current financial crisis. I am going to keep an eye on this campaign.
