The High Cost of Health Care (Part 2)
Before I recently retired at 65, I was obtaining annual physical exams with comprehesive blood tests copletely covered by my HMO insurance plan. When Medicare took over, when it became manadatory at 65, I was informed that only one lifetime preventive physical exam would be provided, and only within six months of registration for Medicare. Therefore, I find it ironic hearing President Obama trumpet preventive heath care for nationalized medicine. It's as if the government is declaring to its Medicare seniors that their advanced old age makes them unworthy of any preventive care, a sort of cloaked, manadated euthanasia, just to save money. If this is the tack that government will continue to take, the moral hazard this nation faces is enormous.
