I'm so glad there's something besides classical in the evenings. But I do have to say that the choices for news and talk have me a little confused. The BBC news is OK, but what's with the call-in shows? I can hear the opinions of uninformed people anywhere - I listen to NPR to get away from that! Talk of the Nation and Science Friday had callers, but at least there was real information there - they are truly missed. The local discussions are not really well prepared, so slimming down to one hour sounds like a good move.
I also wonder why there is not more NPR programming, maybe The World or ATC in the evening? Anyone with a job or school is not likely to hear those during the day. And of course those of us that can remember World Cafe and Afro-Pop still miss them.
