A familiar theme for the defense of labor is the 'loss of godd paying jobs' for those who may be affected negatively. This seems to apply through out labor unions defending their members interest. The City of San Diego is not in existence to provide jobs for people.. period. The city of San Diego exist to provide services to their residents paid for by resident taxes. Since when have we as a city an obligation to provide jobs? Those city jobs exist solely to meet those demands of the residents and if the city workers loose their jobs because of cost saving plans then they can go get hired by those businesses who will be winning the job bids. Aren't they going to need more employees to perform the additional work on those winning bidS? People WE HAVE NO MONEY...GET IT? ? or is the fact that we are almost broke irrelevant??? That is way I voted all imcumbants out of office just last week.
