Second Filner Harassment Settlement Will Include Apology From City

Having a day named after you for getting harassed is a complete joke.

I get it, the city probably saved a monetary settlement by doing it, but it's still a joke.

Legal Battle Over Encinitas Yoga Continues

If you read the judge's opinion, the parents sound like real nutjobs.

I had a little laugh reading that part. It starts on page 18, line 18.

Sara Kruzan Released From Prison 18 Years After Killing Pimp As Teen

I'm glad she's out, a life sentence was not appropriate for her.

However, vigilante justice always needs to be punished to some extent, or it will escalate, and our society would be radically different.

I'm glad her pimp is dead from a personal perspective, he was a horrible person, but he should have been tried for crime, not killed by her.

School Officials Look Into Serra High Blackface Incident

The thing that really got me about this interview was that the guest thought somehow she was the appointed judge of what is funny and who should be what on Halloween. Sorry to break this to you lady, but I could not care less what you think of my costume. Thanks for your concern though.

As far as the punishment for the coaches:

Make them watch Roots? Did you really just say that on TV?

Woman Ticketed For Wearing Google Glass While Driving In San Diego

I don't understand how a video display showing the radio station and song playing is any different.

Sounds like an overzealous cop.

Poll: Three In Four San Diegans Want Filner To Resign

MISSION, saying El Cajon is a conservative area is not the same thing as saying every person in El Cajon is a conservative. All you have to do is see who our Congressman is to know that El Cajon is conservative. Believe me, I vote against him every two years, but he is overwhelmingly re-elected every time.

I don't know Escondido, but with all of the stories of immigrant harassment, I would say that's probably not a stretch either to call it conservative.

Security Rules Tighten At Qualcomm Stadium

"It will be difficult. Change is difficult initially but it's a win-win situation for all of us. Just like the change at Charger Park, it's exciting. This will be beneficial to all of us."

It's only a win-win for the NFL and the concessionaires. It is a lose-lose for the fans that go and the fans that get the game blacked out because less people go.

Political Watchers Say The Silence Of Insiders Enabled Filner

I agree 100% with Peking_Duck_SD, the hindsight soap-boxes are really not helpful.

Roundtable: Balboa Park, Bridgepoint, Backcountry Wildlife Killings

@ Rob Davis

If someone called me up and asked for my "whole database" I would laugh too. I commend you on pursuing this story, but you are overdramatizing their response.

I agree we have a right to the information, but wholesale dumping of raw data to a reporter to spin how he/she wants in this day and age of bias reporting is unrealistic and extremely dangerous. Please don't take that to mean I am calling you bias, but I do not know you or your reporting whatsoever, so I would come down on the side of caution, and that would be not giving you the information right away or in raw format.

Also, I think it is extremely unfair to even insinuate that an agency is running around willy nilly killing animals for no reason. Does that sound like something a reasonable person would do? No it does not. Granted weird people work in all organizations, but before coming to that conclusion I would want a good amount of supporting evidence.

Freeway Lids Hold Hope Of Reconnecting Neighborhoods

I love this idea, but like it or not, we (city, county, or state governments) do not have the resources to invest in these types of projects at this time. I hope we will at some point, but until that future time, this will be another sounds nice but not practical type of idea.

$300 million? I'm sorry but that just sounds rediculous.
