I'm completely in support of banning plastic bags. I don't regard paper bags as "single use:" we use them for holding newspapers and other recyclables until they're full, then they (also being recyclable) go into the recycling bin. I use them for holding garden clippings -- lightweight, easy to carry around -- until they're in tatters, then into the recycling bin. Although we do use some permanent bags for grocery shopping, we take paper bags back to the grocery store, as well, to use when we go shopping. I guess we can use paper bags, too, when we scoop our puppy's poop.
