Ms Hawes, the title of your article "71-Year-Old Ex-Marine’s High-Impact Quest For Vets" is incorrect, unless Mr. Hermalin was dishonorably discharged from the Marine Corps. 21, 51, 71 , 101 does not matter, once an individual has graduated Marine Corps boot camp, they have earned the title "Marine". That is unless they do something to disgrace the Marine Corps and receive a discharge under less than honorable conditions. Consequently, unless the previously stated conditions exist, the title should read "71 -Year-Old Marine's High-Impact Quest For Vets" or "71 -Year-Old (No Longer On Active Duty) Marine's High-Impact Quest For Vets". Either title would be acceptable and more correct. Once a Marine, always a Marine.
Respectfully Yours, George E. Morrison MSgt. USMC Ret. Semper Fidelis
