Flight Delays Expected In San Diego As Sequestration Cuts Take Effect

PNTR China is the largest transfer of wealth program the U.S. Congress and the White House enacted. What used to go to government coffers and American workers/middle-class went to the pockets of CEOs in the form of hundreds of millions in bonuses, members of the U.S. Congress and residents of the White House in the form of campaign contribution (Bribe in layman's term) and to China who is now growing its military and space program (We now can't afford).

PNTR China allowed Corporate America and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to transfer America's advantage in Science and Technology, research and manufacturing know-how and to boot the training of Chinese engineers and technicians. All these with dual applications; commercial and military.

PNTR China resulted in millions of American workers loosing their jobs, decrease in import tax revenue and drastic reduction in the individual and business tax base for income tax revenue and Social Security and Medicare funding. Since the onset of NAFTA in 1994 and PNTR China in 2000 the cumulative negative balance of trade amounts to 7.9 trillion dollars.

PNTR China took away the government's stimulus spending tool during a recession. Now that consumer goods manufacturing is in China and the Third World consumer spending has a very minimal effect in the domestic economy due to the fact that jobs are created in China and the Third World to replenish consumer goods inventory.

What we pay for Chinese and Third World goods is not the actual cost of the goods. We have to factor in; trillions in negative balance of trade, trillions in budget deficit at the Federal, State and Local levels, the stress on the American workers/middle-class immeasurable.

The military implication of PNTR China is scary.

Never Forget — San Diego's Childen Of the Holocaust Share Their Stories

It is ironic that the Warsaw Ghetto has been recreated in Palestine. The Palestinians are being treated exactly the same way the Jews were treated by the Nazis in WWII.

Blue Angels Fly One Of Final Shows In El Centro Before Sequestration Grounding (Video)

This is why our country is in a decline. Legislators are not doing what is good for the country; they cater to the deep pocket lobbyist. Corporate America (CA) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce have a lock on the country's trade policy. The most damaging is the recognition of China as a Most Favored Nation (MFN) renewable every year and made Permanent Normal Trade Relation (PNTR) nation in 2000. These lowered the import tariffs on Chinese made goods from a high of 46% to 6% that made it profitable for CA to move their manufacturing and supply chain operation to China. What they used to manufacture in the U.S. for domestic consumption and export are not manufactured in China and imported to the U.S. MFN and PNTR is the largest transfer of wealth program the transfer the wealth from the American workers/middle-class and government coffers to CA and members of the U.S. Congress. Congress exempts themselves from the insider trading law to partake in the fleecing of America.

The excuse of increase export politicians use to sell free trade agreements always end up with American jobs being exported at the expense of the workers/middle-class and the fiscal health of the nation.

MFN/PNTR China drastically decreased the import tax revenue, individual and business tax base, and funding of Social Security and Medicare. Economic and manufacturing superiority are the prerequisites to military superiority and the U.S. Congress and White House ceded those to the Chinese for the sake of theirs and CA greed.

Lobbying Dollars Fly In Immigration Reform Debate

For jobs CA cannot export they just lobby and spend money on our politicians to expand the H1-B visa program so they can hire foreign nationals instead of unemployed Americans. Now, just like President Reagan did, they want to legalize illegal's to increase the cheap labor pool and again at the expense of unemployed American workers.

Visa Overstays Present Challenge For Immigration Reform

Real_MF_G,

I was at a VA Regional office waiting room with another veteran who was complaining about the benefits undocumented aliens are receiving. I asked him if he knows what President Reagan did while in office to the undocumented alien problem. His reply was "he sent them back?". I had to refrain from laughing when I told him that Reagan legalized the undocumented aliens. That action attracted more of them to come.

The undocumented is the least of our problems. Do you know about the H1-B visa program passed by the U.S. Congress? This program allows Corporate America to hire foreign high-tech professionals if they cannot find qualified American high-tech workers. In Corporate America lingo, "Qualified" means someone willing to accept low wages. If you look at the parking lots of Fortune 500 high-tech companies you will see hundreds if not thousand of Asian Indian engineers and programmers on H1-B visa. I know people who have been warned by their bosses that with the pay they are making they can be replaced by three or more Asian Indians.

Another visa program that takes away jobs from young Americans is the J1 visa program. This program provides seasonal foreign workers to ski resorts and theme parks. This is one of the major reasons for the very high unemployment of young adults.

Filner Has New Plans For Plaza de Panama

I totally agree with the Mayor people voted for change. San Diego's city hall catered to special interest. Look at the millions of dollars the city lost on Liberty Station, the city pretty much gave it away. Balboa Park is fine the way it is so why fix a non-existent problem.

As for the budget sequester issue it is Washington's own doing. Nixon's opening up relations with China that culminated in the U.S. recognition of China as a Most Favored Nation (MFN), renewed on a yearly basis, which was made Permanent Normal Trade Relation (PNTR) nation in 2000 under Clinton. The trade gap with China ballooned in that time frame and can be attributed to the fiscal problem the U.S. is now experiencing at the Federal, State and local levels.

MFN and PNTR China reduced the import tax revenue. At the same time drastically reduced the individual and business tax base, and under funding of Social Security and Medicare due to severe loses in manufacturing and supply chain jobs to China.
MFN and PNTR China are the U.S. Congress approved scheme that transferred the wealth of the U.S. to the coffers of Corporate America and the pockets of the members of the U.S. Congress. At the expense of the American workers/middle-class and placed in jeopardy the status of the U.S. as an economic/manufacturing powerhouse and its military superiority. Economic and manufacturing superiority are the pre-requisites to military superiority. The decline in both economic and manufacturing superiority is now manifesting the dire consequences of MFN and PNTR negative effects on our military.
