Dumanis Endorses DeMaio For San Diego Mayor

Seriously? Dumanis endorsing DeMaio is as good as worthless to Carl. Confirms to me that i would never vote for either. Being a downtown businessman for over 30 years, i have had many encounters with people from the courts and D A's office and not a single one has ever had a good or positive word about Dumanis. Carl can have her.

Filner Releases Calendar: What's Missing?

Peking, You are spot on here. Demaio will sellout the citizens for further political ladder climbing. Only problem is , thanks to some very dedicated folks doing research , the evil trifecta has been exposed and the people will not support them, a boycott of the U T and the N C Times advertisers would be the next route. Well done and keep up the good work.

Jacobs Endorses DeMaio For San Diego Mayor

Does anyone really give a flying @%#& what Jacobs says?. He's the bully that forced the awful Balboa Park bridge plan down our throat. Backing Demaio confirms to me that he is not looking out for San Diego's good folks. He can hitch his wagon to Manchester's and Lynch's and get the $#@% out of here.

San Diego Media Powerhouse Flexes Political Muscles

I have been working Downtown for over 30 years and still do in a professional business in an office building. I have lived in San Diego my entire 52 years and have seen enormous changes in development not all good. It has been my expierience that when a wealthy developer/ business person proposes a massive project, the public always gets screwed and the rich guys make out like bandits. I for one will defend the marine terminals existance forever. They have provided very good paying jobs for decades and are a vital deep water terminal. I find it funny that people like Manchester and Lynch are more than willing to eliminate someone elses job and future for this insane project. The Spanos family is one of the wealthiest around, if this stadium deal is such a no brainer financial idea, why don't they buy property, build and own the facility and keep all the massive revenue this will produce? They won't because it's a shitty deal and they want the public to eat the costs. This proposed project will be the biggest nightmare for Manchester and Lynch, it will generate more resistance than anything ever before here, and i for one will be walking with the marine terminal workers

Downtown's Shade Trees May Be Replaced With Palms

Palm trees and eucalyptus trees are San Diegos cancer. Niether are indigenous or all that attractive. Why does'nt the city plant native trees?, When they did the center of Broadway they could have put in Sycamores, oaks and or cottonwoods, and now we would have a beautiful native mini forest that represents our region. Palms are the worst choice possible.
