California Lawmakers To Lose Their State Cars

As long as they get there, that should be all that matters. Why should they have their motor vehicles subsidized? They can pay it out of their salary like everyone else.

How Finishing Route-52 Started A Traffic Jam

We need to move away from the mentality of just building more roads and highways. Traffic will just get worse and worse. Freeways just tend to lead to decay, with people throwing their trash by the roadside, leaving tires behind, and eventually the plants in the median are dead. The density is there for more public transit (I'd favor the trolley, it's cleaner and less prone to delays than the bus), the political will is what's lacking.

Airport Cities

Great piece, we need more people like that! Water is precious and we need to conserve every bit. Hydroponics could definitely be the answer...

Does It Pay To Believe?

Complete despair? Atheism offers the same things as existentialism, the chance to take responsibility for oneself and see ourselves as independent agents.

I'm not saying God or Allah or whoever couldn't exist, and I could change my mind if I saw or felt something convincing enough, but to bash atheism as some nihilism is a crock! Come on, Tom...

Skyrocketing Gas Prices Turn Travelers To Transit

Sometimes there can be delays, especially at the SDSU station because of the large pileup of students. Hope they will take that into consideration. Anyhow, anything that gets people riding transit is a good thing, especially if they become long-term riders and help legitimize it as real mode of transport.

Broccoli: It's What For Lunch In San Diego Schools

I'm glad to hear this, we need to support the local economy, plenty of our food supply can be grown here, ecologically.
