I am concerned about pedestrian safety if we put electric cars on our streets. Currently we have hybreds like the Toyota Prius. When they start up they use the battery and they are silent. We can't hear them starting up and its easy to walk behind a car that is about to move without knowing it. The streets near my residence do not have crosswalks. There is a curve where you can't see a car until it is almost on top of you. You have to listen for the sound of the engine. If the electic cars have no motor noise, it seems to me that there a danger of pedestrians being hit. Have the manufacturers thought about this? I hope they take this into consideration before these cars ready for the road.
Who do I contact to pass this on to the people who have some impact. (Sorry, maybe wrong choice of words in this case, or maybe the best.
