Ken Cinema Closing As A Landmark Theatre

If that's the case we should hire prostitutes to run our government and major businesses. Oh, wait...

Ken Cinema Closing As A Landmark Theatre it's not acceptable for San Diego government to sponsor The Ken, but it is somehow acceptable to use taxpayer money to fund a baseball stadium for the Padres, ticket sales guarantees for the Chargers and a never ending parade of taxpayer funded studies exploring how to bilk us out of even more money to build them a new stadium? And yes, San Diego is a creative wasteland whose idea of art is a bronze replica of "The Kiss."

Balboa Park Centennial Committee Members Apologize For Failure

So where are all those self-appointed taxpayer advocate groups, the ones who are always claiming to protect taxpayer interests? Where's their typical vitriol and righteous indignation about waste in government? Oh wait, this was a conservative group of San Diego insiders appointed by former Mayor Sanders who wasted taxpayer money. No wonder the silence.

California GOP Candidate: Brown Oversaw Middle-Class Downfall

JM, perhaps you should check in to the typical rates for the skilled trades. But thank you for raising the issue of the role of unions, which raised wages for working people above the slave rate which unfettered Capitalism deems sufficient.

California GOP Candidate: Brown Oversaw Middle-Class Downfall

Prop 13 is what destroyed California. No money for schools, no money for infrastructure, no money for progress. Part of that shrinking middle class are those who use to have decent government jobs providing the services we have come to expect, as well as the construction jobs that were funded through government spending. Low taxes and low regulation sound good but only if you value quantity of life over quality of life. Look at the states who go that route. The jobs they produce are overwhelmingly low paying, not middle class wages, and at a price of poorly regulated sprawl and pollution. If that's your idea of Nirvana then please, please move there and make room here for those who want more out of life.

Marijuana May Hurt The Developing Teen Brain

It won't matter what marijuana does to the brain because the only factor that matters in the good old USA is how much money it can generate. We already know alcohol and tobacco cause physical damage but we sure do like those tax revenues! Colorado just made $134 million in tax revenues from legalizing marijuana and being the whores we are in this country we'll patriotically justify it's availability as a personal choice issue because we just aren't going to let that kind of money pass us by. Of course we"ll offer the usual meaningless assertions that it's for adults only and it should be used responsibly so we can wash out hands of any responsibility for its impact.

For what it's worth I don't care either way. Legal, illegal whatever; let's just be honest about our motives. And what I want to know is why, if life is so wonderful in this country, do so many people need drugs?

Proposal: Monitoring Foreign Flight Students In San Diego

So let me understand this. It's been more or less 13 years since the terrorists took flight training. Haven't had any other incidents since 2001 involving foreign zealots taking flight training in the US and then crashing planes into...anything. So now we need to be all afraid again and do more monitoring of what is already being monitored because...why?
Time to give a pacifier and blankie to all you scared children masquerading as adults and send you to bed while the grownups deal with reality.

San Diego Traffic Court Dismisses Google Glass Ticket

Wearing Google Glass while driving and claiming that you're not going to use it is like driving with an open beer in your hand and claiming that you're not going to drink it. Only the stupidity of our legal system buys into such convoluted logic.

Legal Battle Over Encinitas Yoga Continues

I guess football should be banned from the schools too since coaches routinely instruct football players to kneel when they are on the sidelines.
